Foerfest 2010
Dearest Readers:
You put in some mightily impressive numbers yesterday. 231 absolute unique visitors with 561 page views. Clearly, Mr. Paul Foer is the best thing that ever happened to this blog.
Thanks Paul!
So keeping to that theme, I will put on the back burner other weekend stories (Doug Smith's First - And Final - Junket) for:
FOERFEST 2010!
Where you, the loyal KOG reader, get to post your favorite Paul Foer story.
But, since it is a blog and some of you are really wacked-out, there are ground rules:
-- Your story must be factual or based upon your preceptions.
-- It must be relevant to Paul's civic life as a candidate, public official, blogger and columnist or community activist.
-- Comments off colour or off topic or 'not in accordance with' will be deleted.
-- I am sure there are other rules. This is Annapolis. I'll let you know as they are violated.
Pretty simple eh?
So have it. Let's all tell the world about our dear friend Paul Foer.
The man who drives web traffic to us.

Dear King of George,
ReplyDeleteI see you have been up early and decided to pick a fight with Mr. Foer. May the best man win.
I would like to put a plug in for internet freedom, free speech and the first amendment.
" Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
This ouht to be good. Anyone who knows Foer must certainly have a good story to share.
ReplyDeleteIt is too nice a day for all of this mudslinging - get a life.
ReplyDeleteMy story is the first time I met Paul. He was running for Alderman and came on our porch in Eastport. I opened the door, mentioned some issue and he started haranguing me. Would not stop. I think it was about city buses.
ReplyDeleteI had to call my husband to get him away from us. He politely told him to leave.
Of course we voted for Arnett. Who would have guesses he has become as nutty as Foer?

ReplyDeleteEllen Moyer told the funniest Foer story on her blog, about his paid-for-by-the-city psychological counseling. And he rants and raves about government waste and abuse.
ReplyDeleteHe should consider repaying taxpayers for HIS waste and abuse. Also his salary when he worked for the city.
Hey King of George: why did you remove my post?
ReplyDelete"What I know about Paul is his poor personal hygiene. When you meet him he always looks like he has emerged from exile in New Jersey. Unwashed, un shaven just dirty.
New idea: discover soap!"
?????
Dearest Anon:
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a little over the line, personal hygiene, really.
Nevertheless, you obviously feel strongly about it and I'll classify it as a 'perception'. So I'll let it stand.
But, please stay focused on real events and factual things.
Life is tough as a referee in the Ancient Citte.

I saw him accost a squire (Fred?) at City Dock one day. Paul felt he had more of a right to be on his bicycle than the Squire did on his Segway. Words were exchanged.
ReplyDeleteJazzy here
ReplyDeletethe community will always remember what he did to zina and classie and kenny and sheila during the election
and now he lives in servna park
My friend owns a shop downtown. Paul brought his kids in and they went medieval on the office furniture. Jumping up and down and generally destructive. The office furniture was stuff that his father had owned. He asked Paul to control his kids and he would not. So he threw him and his kids out. Of course, Paul threatened him etc...
ReplyDelete"Think of how small a flame can set a fire to a huge forest, the tongue is a flame like that, Among all parts of the body, the tongue is a whole wicked world in itself; it infects the whole body; catching fire itself from hell, it sets fire to the whole wheel of creation. "
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know -- did he ever pay his fees so Foerfront LLC is legal registered in the state?
ReplyDeleteDearest Readers:
ReplyDeleteBully weather, eh?
On King George Street my May basket won again, for the 30th straight year. This is Annapolis and, of course, it helps to know the judges...
Foerfest 2010 - we've had a bully start. But please stay focused on the topic. I'm not sure how quoting Christ is topical but, Paul, your posts here will not aid in the discussion. A celebration of that strangest of creatures - The Foer.
So have fun with it.

A friend met Paul at a party in Severna Park with his new girlfriend. Said he was really nice. I told him he better wait and see what happens...
ReplyDeleteSorry, I refuse to believe Paul would have a girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteFoer is a mischief maker & activist as political type. He likes to make loud popping noises and watch the anthill squirm, swarm and scatter. He has no theory, no administrative capacity or beliefs to go along with his political nihilism.
ReplyDeletesp. on juvenile.
ReplyDeleteslander is not freedom of speech
ReplyDeleteSlander, libel and blood sport is the lingua franca of Annapolis politics transmitted through the whispering campaign system of rumor and innuendo used by the elite.
ReplyDeleteKing of George is doing us a favor by bringing in some much needed sunlight so we can dry it up and have a clean slate and transparency.
Dearest Readers:
ReplyDeleteGood start yesterday at FOERFEST 2010. We'll continue it a bit longer knowing there is so much more out there on the Man Foer All Seasons.
King of George
He is a liar!! He is NOT paid by The Capital for his blatherings and Nick Luncow (from The Capital) states as much in one of the responses to one of his columns. Rumor has it that he pays for the radio "show" on WRNR.
ReplyDeleteYet when he is called out on his latest column in the capital he states that the media pays him for his brilliance.
PF is a nusance. When I worked with City Transportation you learned to stay away from him. He was a public embarassment to the city and could not get along with his boss.
ReplyDeleteHe supposedly 'marketed' city bus services but actually drove riders away and then blamed someone else.
Thankfully his tenure as a public offical was brief.

ReplyDeleteDearest Anon:
ReplyDeleteInappropriate comment about Paul's personal life. Re-moved.

Dear King of George,
ReplyDeleteThis is all well to be criticizing that droll blogger from Eastport but I do think we need a day or two to take out that rogue Weikel, n'est ce pas ?
Perhaps you will do a "Wack the Weikel Day" soon after Foyerfest ?
Best Wishes,
Ward
P.S. The Beaver asks about you....
Paul Foer brings much needed sunlight to the corrupt and decrepid city. Thank you Paul!
ReplyDeleteReaders:
ReplyDeleteAlas! Time and tide wait for no one.
The blogospheric news cycle has caught up with the King and I must move on (See: Doug Smith's First - and Final - Junket). I have so enjoyed the Stories of Paul.
Ward - perhaps the nefarious Mr. Weikel should be next in our net?
