Tragedy Strikes City Official

Mayor Cohen delivering the bad news to Mr. Mallinoff.

Dearest Readers:

The King has sad news to report. Tragedy has struck a noted city official.

This afternoon Mayor Cohen announced that Michael D. (a.k.a. Mad Dog) Mallinoff is to be the next CAO / City Manager.

This will surely mean the end of his peaceful well lived professional life. A thankless position in the best of times, Mr. Mallinoff will now have a life expectancy of 23 days 7 hours and 47 minutes.

Mr. Mallinoff in happier times.

Donations in lieu of flowers will be accepted at the Home for Dispossessed City Officials, Mayor's Office, 160 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.

God rest his soul!

King of George

Great, another blast from the past. If he could manage that duddie Al Hopkins he certainly could help the boy who would be Mayor.

  3. It is as I had predicted. Fair thee well, Mr. Mallinoff.

  4. But the mayor was also able to sneak in a $130K position for Doug Smith--the one who neglected to let him know about the theft of $150K from City Hall.

  5. We don't need a City or a City Manager. Why not let Dennis Callahan run the City from the Heritage Office Complex out on Riva Road? It would be more efficient and we could get rid of all that wasteful duplication of City overhead that just clog up the works.

Annapolis really just no more a waterfront bar for the County with a parking problem and you can get everything you need out in Parole Town Centre with free parking.

We the People demand the Government to stop picking our pockets and wasting our tax dollars!

  6. Why does Cohen keep Smith around ?

Is he the Ward One hatchet man ?

Do they both still have police protection?

Will Mallinoff have a private cop looking after him ?

What does all of this cost ?

  7. Cohen is an idiot incapable of doing anything on his own. He has zero charisma, thinning hair, a mono-tone speaking voice and a flat affect ( noun--to show little or no emotion ) . He tends to surround himself with geezers and by doing so will do little to correct the misguided path our city has been on since we got the gap, Banana republic, and all the other losers attracted to this backwoods city. Cohen has shown us time and time again that he is impressed with himself and his position but very unimpressive in his lackluster performance. A trained monkey could take Cohen's position and get more done.

Cohen should be derided for his completely inability to make a command decision, especially with regard to his wimpy approach in the handling of the careless handling of the stolen deposit caper. His attempt at appearing angry was laughable and pointless.

Recall Boy Cohen before we our hometown becomes more of a national laughing stock

it is indeed a tragedy for a man of Mallinoff's age to have been forced into having to work for the boy-mayor--maybe has is simply a fallen man , or maybe he owes Cohen's mommy a favor due to a past indiscretion that is being held over his head. Regardless, if he is willing to work for the boy mayor he is surely now a less-than.

  9. Mallinoff is an ICMA certified City Manager with decades of experience and knows Annapolis very well. It's about time the City had someone competent to run it.

  10. Paul Foer for City Manager! He has as much experience at running a City as Smith plus he has the Newspaper's ear .

  11. Foer tried for transportation director and was shot down. Now (as is typical for Foer) Cohen is on his shitlist. You think he was ballistic on Moyer, just wait now that he has the Capital column, his blog, and the radio show on WNAV.

  13. On this day there is danger and destruction lurking around very corner in annapolis. The water plant is known to contain unhealthy toxins, the retail economy downtown is dead, and the city government is run by a mayor who was kicked out of a college for whom his own father taught.

It is time for all good men and girls to revolt against Cohen and his tribe of has-beens and can't-get-a-real jobs on City Hall. Take your money back for City Hall, stop paying your taxes, until Cohen steps down.
