Dearest Friends:

Citizen Ellen Moyer has just distributed an letter calling for 'One Annapolis'. A nice thought Ellen, but we must face a cold hard fact: there will never be 'One Annapolis' as long as there are other people besides myself.

This is a difficult time. There is a rift - a deep and enduring wound - among the people of this once great citte.

Yet I believe change is possible.

This road toward reconciliation will be long and difficult. The entire population of Annapolis cannot see eye-to-eye on the key issues. And that is what tears us asunder.

There are truly two Annapolis. I am the only person alive who is truly able to see things from my point of view. Thus, we have a long way to go before our beloved city becomes a place of Kings.

There are some who say I am not reflecting the best of what we have in Annapolis. I love Annapolis and cherish our unique way of life in the Ancient Citte. I have always believed there is room in Annapolis for everyone to think and act the same way I do. Every man, woman and child is free to be just like me.

One day, people will realize that fostering a citte view identical to my own is the most sensible course of action.

In the meantime, there are a terrifying number of opinions out there that are not mine. Many of them are held by people I haven't even met. Even more alarming, I would estimate that, on average, non-King Annapolitans probably share my specific perspective on fewer than 5 out of 10 issues.

For example, I have spoken to many who disagree that I be exempt from citte parking regulations. This is the height of narcissism. If they put themselves in my shoes for 3 seconds, then they would appreciate the value to privatizing a parking space directly in front of my home on King George Street. That would be reserved for my exclusive use 24/7.

But, alas, people are unable - or unwilling - to put aside their selfish motives and defer to mine.

There are 36,000 people in this citte who are not me. But deep down we all want the same things: the bridge the gaps that divide us and to live in peace and harmony.

It can happen. It's going to take some major concessions from everyone who isn't me. It is going to take everyone coming together and doing exactly what I want and when I want it.

Only then can we achieve Citizen Moyer's dream of 'One Annapolis'.

King of George

  1. Bully - Yes reserved parking curbside out front of our homes is a good thing ! As are mandatory downtown quiet periods during mid afternoon so naps are not interrupted.

Getting rid of those cannons out in the Bay announcing the start of boat races would be nice for us downtown.

  2. Moyer is the downfall of Annapolis. Look at the debt the last Administration left us in.

Cohen is trying to clean up the fiscal train and $ 20,000,000 in debt = $560 due for every man woman and child in the City.

Now we know the true meaning of Moyers Destroyers. Bring back Smith and his hatchet men of Ward One - better that than debtors prison for us all.

We need to hire a couple more Cohen's in order to triple check the Job we are currently paying Josh to do . A job at which he is failing, but if we can just throw enough money at the boy-wonder sooner or later it will all be alright.

  4. It is time for the City of Annapolis to surrender to the County, we have you surrounded and there is no escape. Face it your little experiment at self-government has failed.

  5. Cohen is just doing what the Council wants to do.

  6. Moyer really should be investigated for producing a fraudulent budget.

  7. Yes, It is time for an Independent Council to be appointed to investigate.

  8. Notorious BashfulAugust 1, 2010 at 9:25 AM

We need an independent council, I hereby nominate Josh's mother as as lead investigator.

  9. M.O.M. (Martin O'Malley) would be more appropriate.

  10. Moyer committed fraud in her last budget by borrowing money from the capital budget to pay operating expenses and NOT including know expenses, like the million or so that it costs to run the Moyer Rec Center.

As Arnett said back then, it's WASN'T a balanced budget. He was soundly ridiculed for that by his fellow Democrats.

He was more than proven right. Moyer, and all the others who voted FOR her budget have been proven to be either dishonest or incompetent.

  11. We all know the last City Council bumped up the budget a few million dollars.

    Check the records

  12. Time to stop beating Moyer. This baby belongs to Josh. If he did not know about it going into the race, ask him why he did not do his due diligence.

He wanted the office and he got it come hell or high water (or paying Foer to expose Zina and railroading the Central Committee to not even consider the others who wanted consideration.

Then he presented a budget and claimed it was balanced, and then the council passed it. It is COHEN's BUDGET not Moyers. And now all of a sudden one month into the "balanced" budget the finance director says we are looking at a $4m deficit by thge end of the first quarter? And that was AFTER Cohen borrrowed $10 million?

And now he wants another. Come on people get real
