R's & D's Avoid Patriotic Armageddon

Dear Readers:

Well, we avoided the train wreck of out-of-control politicians. Or maybe it is just on hold for 30 days.

First to blink were the Annapolis Democratic Central Committee and the D-30 Club, who quickly retreated when two prominent Democrats and war veterans complained about their planned 'counter march'. Apparently the organizers of said march never asked for approval of their own Committee, whose Chairman was in Europe on vacation and whose Vice Chair position is unfilled.

Coup masters after my own heart, those Dems!

Then the Republicans heard some back lash from outside their own ranks, reduced the size of their campaign contingent that was scheduled to march. And placed Erhlich campaigners near the reviewing stand in the crowd to crow for their candidate. They got their hyper-patriotism done, albeit more subtly.

Whew!

Never fear, in a month will be the normally heavily politicized 4th of July Parade. No doubt everyone but the Chinese Communist Party will be there wrapping themselves in our flag and professing everylasting faith in American liberties.

Like your right to make an ass of yourself.

King of George

  5. All people should be free to march in the memorial day parade. Veterans are nothing special. We write their paychecks, we are the worthy ones.

  7. I thought Jesus died for me, 'folks'. Personally, I find the glorification of soldiers silly. Heck, I think the glorification of Jesus is silly. Here is what is not silly, you are born, you live, you die...end of story. If you are stupid enough to die for the government so be it.

  9. Mr. Zindorff, you ability to cut through the false reality of modern day life is laser precise. If the idiot masses woke up and refused to do the government's bidding the world would be a better place. You have to wonder why an otherwise perfectly fine young person would choose to die for George Bush's temper tantrum. Clearly, those in power don't let their kid's do something so stupid.

  15. Zindorff and Gay Bob love to avail themselves of the freedom to post their comments here, yet they show disdain for those who gave their lives to make that possible.

It's the height of stupidity, selfishness and immaturity.

  17. Gay Bob:

Tell the families with dead daughters, sons, mothers and fathers to "forget about it"!

Your comments are so repulsive that it's hard to even comprehend them.

If you think their sacrifice is so unimportant, then why don't you go to China, Iran or some place like that and see where the free speech you abuse here gets you.

Without the sacrifice of our Vets, the crap you spew on this blog would get you in a concrete box, eating bugs.

Your comments are nausiating. Cowards like you would never say something like that to the face of a vet. Instead you just take the freedom they gave you and use it to disparage their sacrifice.

In my book, everyday should be Memorial Day!

  19. Interesting that KOG is sudddenly missing, now that the shit has finally hit the fan on the City Budget.

We heard lots of crap out of him, claiming this was all some sort of manufactured crisis. Now that the truth is undeniable, we don't hear a peep.

It's now all pretty clear as to who has been lying over the years. Moyer, Hoyle, et.al. have now been fully exposed.

    What a coward.

What a disgrace to the Naval Academy.

  25. Right, as if Paul Foer really posted this comment!

The real news here is that Chuck Weikel castigated those who warned of Annapolis' fiscal woes. Now when the formerly skeptical alderpersons at least acknowledge the existence of a problem, Chuck goes underground.

You notice when it is time to be responsible about one's comments, Chuck is always out the back door.

Wen the mayor and majority of the council open their eyes and take on the true dimensions of the city's financial picture, perhaps he will even leave town.

Chuck, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
